The People Living with HIV/AIDS Committee (PLWH/A) is open to all HIV-infected individuals of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and seeks to ensure that the best interests of People Living with HIV/AIDS are met in the Oakland TGA, to review concerns and complaints regarding the provision of HIV/AIDS services by agencies receiving Part A funds in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, and to promote participation of PLWH/A’s in the monitoring of provider contracts in collaboration with the Grantee. The PLWHA Committee meets the third Tuesday of each month from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The Mission of the PWLH/A Committee is:
- Help decide how Ryan White Care Act funding is spent for treatment, services, education and prevention
- Identify the needs of and advocate for PLWHA’s
- Help make sure agencies deliver quality services they are funded to deliver
